What type of GPU is this?

Alright so i found a GPU on craigslist and i have no idea what it is and neither does the seller other than that it is a 7000 series. Seems pretty sketchy and ill probably be stabbed but thats alright. What model of card could this possibly be? (I buy and sell PC's so i know the risks and whatnot)

cant say for sure but yes that is the cooler that was stock on the 78-7900 series cards built by AMD.
the 7700 series had a different cooler. that blower design was on the higher echelon of their cards.

Where there's an old GPU there's a system. Tell the seller to put it into a system and run DXDIAG on it. It'll either be in Display or Render that the version of the GPU pops up.

On one hand, it's a bad idea to buy something from someone who won't provide basic info on what they're selling. On the other hand, you can sometimes get fantastic deals from people who don't know what they're selling.

It looks like the Radeon HD 7850 or the 7870.

NOT the 7870 GHz edition, as that has 'GHZ' written on the fan in large letters.

If it has 1x6-pin PCIe that would suggest it was the 7850. With 2x6-pin it might be the 7870.

It could have either 1GB or 2GB vram... the 7850 comes with 1GB or 2GB, the 7870 has 2GB.

As mentioned above, it really needs the seller to stick it into a PC and run GPU-Z.
