What upgrade can i do for my dell inspiron 531

Hello,
My Dell keeps freezing and it is really getting on my nerves. Exactly what can and needs to be upgraded and how much does it cost?

Upgrade RAM, replace thermal compound, clean out all system fans, PSU fans, etc, dust the insides, defrag the hard drive, possibly replace the hard drive, and replace Windows with a Linux OS because Linux is better for resource management as opposed to Windows. I have an old Dell Dimension 3000 running like brand new thanks to Debian (a Linux OS), I'll show you a video if you care to see.
