Running HD 6870 in crossfire and have quite a good capability so far but what would be a cost effective upgrade showing decent gains?
Any other upgrade recommendations welcomed.

I5 2500k
P8z68-v motherboard
8gb ram
128gb ssd
1tb hdd
6870 crossfire
1000w antec TruePower
Windows 7

You're setup is still pretty good :) i5 2500K is still holding it's own. 8GB is good for gaming and general use. You already have an SSD, and (without Googling the specs myself) your power supply appears to give you plenty future headroom...Google to confirm.

Have you the best overclock from the i5 you can get?

If you're looking for more gameplay capability...have you Google'd 6870 Xfire versus any more recent setup? 970? hold off till newer AMD? Are your games playing at an acceptable framerate with no compromise in eye candy? - good pointers to an upgrade.

If you have a fair bit of money to throw on a recent setup/mboard base then you might consider this but it will be costly, then again, your 2500K still holds well even today.
As a general rule, newer tech will be more power efficient...if that's important to you.

Power consumption isn't an issue. Yes I can play most well all I've tried but I haven't put anything through it too demanding I would love to oc my i5 but having zero experience in it I didn't want to start messing I'd need literally a step by step idiots guide I wouldn't even know benchmarks to look for and in what. My motherboard has tpu which I think don't quote me on the cpu a little itself can u recommend a program that tells me what the cpu is running at max? I have cpuz but again know very little about using it. I would also like to know exactly how to configure my components for max results as like I've said I'm a red arse lol

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ATI/Radeon_HD_6870_CrossFire/13.html http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/radeon_hd_6850_6870_crossfirex_review,13.html These show reasonable framerates at 1080p only you decide if they acceptable for newer games 2500k does overclock very well big benchmark differences easy to do Google has many easy step by step guides check a couple out cpuz will tell you if you've overclocked no probs all good google is your friend

Graphics Card is always next upgrade 😀 get ya self nvidia 970 for now scrap ya xfire save you self abit energy bill and if wanted later on SLI simple 😀.
If not get yourself 16gb probs not needed but will never hurt plus games are slowly pushing for more and more RAM... future proofing its the future 😀

Nice one people. So if you knowledgeable lot were to rate my graphics set in today's market 1-10 what would you say? I also got both cards via ebay/gumtree for a total of about 65 quid so is that any good??
