What would be a better upgrade for gaming? My current specs are:

CPU: Intel 4460 @ 3.2ghz
GPU: PNY GeForce 760 2GB
Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 3
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600mhz
SSD: Intel 730 Series 240GB
HDD: Toshiba 500GB
PSU: EVGA Standard 500W

Future Upgrades could be:
4790k + Cooler Master 750W V Series 80+ Gold Power Supply
or
MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Gaming Graphics Card

99.9% sure its just 80 plus

The 970 will give you a much bigger boost. A PSU of medium or above quality should be fine and EVGA seem to get good reviews
