LOL.....sorry about that i could have sworn I pasted what i was going to say anyways here it is.....

Hello,

I am trying to see what upgrades i would need to run Planet side 2 and others similar games on high settings.

Intel Core2 Quad 2.4ghz
3Gb ram
AMD Radeon 6570 1gb

a cpu cooler so you can overclock that cpu to 3.0ghz or better.
a stronger gfx card if you have the psu to power it.
i would also suggest upgrading the ram to 2x2gigs but ddr2 is fairly expensive today.
if you do decide to buy more ram try for ddr2 1066 or 800 in matched pairs of the same speed and latencies.
recommended gfx for ps2 is a gtx 650ti or 5850or better. (nope the 6570 isnt a stronger card because they have higher numbers. amd changed the naming of the cards just after the 58** series launched).

Thank you HEXiT,

My PSU is 1000 Watts i built this system when the Intel Quad Cores first came out and i have recently let it just sit there as i have not been playing many games and the ones i do ie: LOL, Diablo 3, and Minecraft work fine on my laptop but last night i found Planet Side 2 and TF2 and now i want to dust off the old mouse and keyboard and start playing on my desktop again. So as far as the PSU i think ill be fine with it. About the CPU overclocking what CPU cooler could you recommend i have a full tower so space isn't an issue i know the Zelmans are pretty bulky. Also the Ram i am planning on upgraded to 8gbs(4x2gbs).

Don't know what you budget is but here what i would recommend to replace your Intel Core2 Quad 2.4ghz
3Gb ram and AMD Radeon 6570 1gb.

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2 GB DDR5

Solid upgrades all.

Hope this helped

if you are just gonna oc your current cpu i would suggest you select the memory very carefully. some will only work with 2 sticks while others will work with 4. when tthe cpu is oc'd. so check the overclockers forums for the best options b4 you put any cash down.
zalman coolers of core 2 quads work well. i had tha 9500a led on a much hotter running amd and it never went over 60'c but there are now more efficient offerings from other companies like the frio, 212evo and so on.

the above is just the bare minimum approach and you dont want to add a huge gfx card to that system or it will choke. a gtx 570 or 660ti would be the absolute recommended max.
as for it not liking amd cards. i have 1 and it works fine for me... then again i dont have half quarter of the problems some people report there having. my guess is people are quick to blame hardware over the user as its easier to fix.

if you want to go all out i cant argue with the above recommendation of an i5 2500k/8gigs of ram and a high end gfx card.
