what UPS would I require for 600W PSU [Gaming]

Recently, there has been occasional power outages for ~10 seconds that shuts my computer down.

I bought a 600VA UPS (I really didn't check the ratings, etc. I didn't know much about UPSs before I asked my computer guy to deliver a UPS over) and while it keeps my computer on when I am not doing anything, it fails to keep it switched on when I am gaming.

My system specs:
Intel i5-3470
AMD Radeon HD 7870 XT

Wattage calculators are fine, but they are not very accurate. In addition, they do NOT take into account other items that need power.
What size and how many monitors are you running? Is the monitor plugged into the UPS (it should be or else you can't shut the PC down properly). You indicated above that you had 1 7200 RPM SCSI drive; did you really mean SATA?
The 353 watts shown is telling you approximately how much maximum power your system will draw FROM the power supply, not from the wall socket. Depending on your PSU's efficiency and quality that might take a lot of 110 or 220 voltage to produce.
Not knowing what brand, model, etc. your PSU is, it is difficult to suggest a proper UPS, but if a 600VA isn't giving you any run time during or at the start of a blackout/poweroutage, then you probably need one rated at 800-1000VA.
Post your PSU specifications and monitor type (CRT, LCD or LED flat panel) and size, and we can give you a better idea

I bought my UPS just yesterday. I can return it. It's a cheap brand, I don't think the store I called knew that I was running a "gaming" computer.

I was recently considering buying a UPS for myself but my power never goes down and I have never experienced a "brown out" in my house so I passed on one. but about your PSU, if your system is pulling 100w and your PSU's efficiency is 80%, then it's actually pulling 120w from the wall because 20% of it is lost and released as heat, etc.

I'm back for awhile. Mace200200 suggests a couple very nice units, but where do you live (country)? Newegg doesn't ship everyplace.
Both my UPS are Tripp-Lite: one is an OmniVS1000 the other is an Omni1000LCD; both from Costco and about $100. Either one gives me about 5-10 minutes run time at power failure, depending upon what I am doing.
Kinda rambling here, sorry. 1000VA is probably where you want to start. Tripp-Lite, APC, Cyberpower are three good brands. The following is the Cyberpower I was looking at to replace my OmniVS (that's a whole 'nother story.):

Re-reading your post and mace's, then looking at specs from the 3 manufactures I listed, most 600VA UPS units do NOT give you enough wattage to keep everything running when the power dies.

Evanbd, I will answer your question, but be advised the posting of another question on a thread by someone else is called "hijacking the thread" and is not allowed.
Please make a thread of your own, I would suggest under "Components", so you will get some responses; this thread was solved way back in October so it is probably getting very few views.

Your UPS MIGHT work. But about 3-4 years is the time period when the UPS batteries wear out and need to be replaced or the unit needs to be replaced. Take a look at the manual and follow the instructions for charging, attaching it, and TESTING it; if it passes the test you will have your answer.
