My son wants to play some basic games on a computer I built. The motherboard has built in video GeForce 7025 / NVIDIA n Force 630A but some games are not running smoothly. The processor is AMD X4 640 with 4 GB RAM. In bios, we have 256 MB (max allowed) allocated to video. Windows 7, 64 bit. He is mostly interested in NBA, MLB, FIFA, etc.
MLB 2k10 has requirements:
Video Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible (see below):
ATI x1300 or better;
NVIDIA 6600 or better;
DirectX 9.0c compatible card with Shader Model 3.0 support.
NBA2k13 requires:
Graphic Card : Video card with 512 MB or more memory Nvidia Geforce 6800 or ATI Radeon HD 2400
What card should I buy? The motherboard has a PCI slot, a PCI Express x1 slot, and a PCI Express x16 slot. I found SPARKLE GeForce 210 Series 700039 GeForce 210 1GB 64-bit PCI Express x16 Video Card at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187209 It's $35. Would that be sufficient for these games?
