It has to be 1 card, not multiple. It seems like it'll have to be a gaming card. I'm wondering if any specs matter, like ram type or amount. Each monitor needs to be run at high resolution.

Solution
Now if you wanted to nix the 4x 1440p monitors and go with standard 1080p monitors, I'd suggest something like:
Video Card: PNY Quadro P620 2 GB Video Card ($174.97 @ Amazon)

Which can handle the 4x monitors without issue.

It's the increased resolution of 1440p, which is just over 1.7x as many pixels as 1080p. Or roughly instead of 4x 1080p monitors, it's trying to do the work as 7x 1080p.

What's daisy chaining?

I was hoping for the potential of 1440p for each monitor to be safe, so higher.

This is for my friend. I believe he has 1 monitor so far and it has hdmi, not sure if it has display port capabilities.

Daisy chain is a continuous loop. 1 cable from gpu to monitor, to monitor, to monitor. Standard wiring would have 3 cables, 1 to each monitor.

Just how many monitors are you thinking? What's the budget for gpu and more monitors? Just how far are you wanting to take this?

This is just overall far easier to deal with. It's the same as 2x 27" 1440p monitors, without the bezels in between and just one link, so eliminating split-screen issues with colours and landscape.

It's going to be 4 monitors. I assumed it had to be 4 monitor cables going into 4 video card ports. What are the pros and cons of daisy chaining?

I was looking to spend $150 max... Never would I have imagined someone recommending me a 2070 for day trading

It's not the job, it's the resolution. You can daytrade easily on any processor integrated gpu. With 1 monitor. When you start getting to 3-4 monitors you start needing a card that is powerful enough to handle the increased amount of real estate. Little cards don't do as well and can he limited to 3 monitors. 1440p makes that even harder.

7680x4320 is the maximum resolution capable on that 2070 Super. That monitor is 5120x1440 and is identical to 2x 1440p monitors, so for 4x monitors you'd be looking at a screen resolution of 10,240 x 1440. Even that card will struggle, if it's even possible.

What are the rest of the specs?
Some motherboards can output to several monitors.

Why 4 monitors?
Have you considered a large 43" + sized 4k monitor?
That is 3840 x 2160 or the equivalent of 4 1080P monitors.
You can put many charts on such a monitor and size them individually.
