What video card should i get?

I want to upgrade my video card. At the moment I have a gtx 580. I have an older system.
CPU: I7 x980 (6x 3.33GHz/12MB L3 Cache)
MOBO: Asus Sabertooth x58
RAM: 12GB DDR3-1600

I wanted to know if the MSI GTX 1060 is a good one or is it overkill? Or what would you guys recomend. Thanks

1080P/60hz monitor? If so then yes it would be a good upgrade, also would recommend the 6gb version for the increase vram, more cuda cores & better performance over the 3gb version.
