What video card should i get

My second card died about a month ago, i wanted to get another 9800 gtx to run in SLI but they don't make them anymore and i gave up looking for one.
I've save up for a new one but i have no idea what i should get (do i get 2 cheap cards and run SLI or do i just get one good card?)

my rig

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.0GHZ (i'm planing on overclocking it to 3.6GHZ)
EVGA nForce 780i SLI motherboard
geForce 9800 GTX superclocked
4GB/s RAM
750 Watt PSU

I'm looking to spend no more than $300, maybe a bit more if it's worth it.

You can SLI a 9800GTX with a 9800GTX+. Those can still be found new;

That said I would ebay the 9800GTX, grab an HD5850 and OC the hell out of it. It will give you better performance, DX11 compatibility, much better power efficiency and no SLI scaling/compatibility/heat issues.

Pretty much all my games are set to 1920 X 1080

You can SLI a 9800GTX with a 9800GTX+. Those can still be found new;

HD 5770 or HD 5770 crossfire or HD 5850. Thats what you should get. Well basically anything but those cards = fail

Don't i need to have a crossfire MB to even run crossfire?

1. Short answer NO
2. Yes, nvidia chipset m/b support sli ONLY, its only the new Intel p55, x48 m/b's that can be certified for both sli/crossfire.

1. Short answer NO

Your short answer is quite incorrect. The HD5850 OCs like crazy. It can usually go over 1ghz and considering the stock clocks are 725mhz that's nearly a 50% OC which will crush SLIed 9800GTXs. Throw in DX11 and that the card uses less power than a single 9800GTX and there's no competition.
