I am trying to figure out what video card my friend has... I was talking to him on the phone last night, and I had assumed for the last few years that he had a Voodoo3 2000 16mb agp card... but he claims his card has 64mb of ram... is there a Voodoo 3 video card that has 64mb of ram... he says in directX it says Voodoo3 AGP 64MB...

I know the Voodoo5 has 64mb... but a Voodoo3?

Maybe it's reporting AGP aperture instead of RAM amount?

He is a 2 1/2 hour drive away... I really thought he had a Voodoo3 2000 16MB card... because no one jumped up and said, oh, ya, there is one with 64MB of ram, he must be wrong about the 64MB... but I had him open up DirectX on the phone and read me stuff... DirectX does not even tell aperture size, does it? He is likely using some weird driver to make it work... he is somehow using DX9 and playing some games with it... but I remember with my old Voodoo3 2000, I never gort a good reading of ram with DX8.1... it would say 15 instead of 16 and that kind of thing... if he ever brings his box with him over here, I will take a look at it...

I have been trying hard to get him to upgrade... why is it so hard with some people... and he is a gamer, big time... for him, a GF4 MX would be a big upgrade... he is using a P3 500MHz cpu with 512MB of PC133 ram... custom built Compaq desktop...
