i just noticed that the fast memory will not work with that board because of voltage. so fast ram with another board or slow high cap ram?

i am going to be playing BF2 and wow

Maximum adresses accessable in 32 bit is around 3.5gb (makes sense) - bios may allocate more than that thou for the memory allocated to installed devices...

faster timings offer slightly better performance because most games now will only use a max 2 gb ram........... but to future proof for all games i'd rather use the 4 gb set (and eventually go with a 64 bit version of vista)

ps. i really don't know if the faster timings offer any real world benefit

Normally faster timings offer very little to no performace gains, but for the sake of future proofing they are desireable, 2 gigs is more than enough.

BTW: I can tell you one thing for sure, the 8800GTS 320 is not the way to go, unless it's the G92 version, if it's not, then go 8800 GT or AMD HD3870, they both outperform the old GTS

i have been out of the loop for a while now, been using a dull laptop for about a year.

i got the 8800GTS 320 from toms video card list.

if i use the 3GB comand line it will allow the games ad apps to use 3GB.

i would use win xp 64 but i have heard so many bad things about it. including that it will slow down 32bit games?

i have heard of the black edition, but why the 5000+ black why not the 6400+ black?

Yes the 8800GTX would smoke them all. But I always avoid open box items. Maybe I'm just paraniod. That 8800GT will beat the 8800GTS and keep up with the 8800GTX.

Fan... I would go with an Freezer Pro, Zerotherm, and Zalman are decent. You just need to make sure your case is big enough for an air cooler. Unless, you want to water cool...
