What will give good performance?

So my house was built a long time ago, so ethernet wasn't installed to the house, and it would be way to expensive to do so. So i am here to ask what my best solution for a Wireless setup that would give the the maximum speed while gaming? I have the standard Verizon Fios router, and Im thinking about upgrading to Quantum. I have the 25mbs/25mbs plan right now if that is needed.

get a wifi card. This one works at a max of 450mbps, and I know quantum FIOS is at the most 100mbps download and upload so it'll work perfectly http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166076

My house is a 200 year old dairy barn with post and beam (8" thick "ironwood") construction. I bought

500' ethernet cable $35
1 crimping tool $37
1 16" drill bit $14
50 pcs bag of ethernet connectors $8

Ran wires for 12 computers to 8 rooms in about 6 hours. Drilling thru the beams took the longest. Hid the wires behind wall / floor mouldings.
