[SOLVED] What will happen if I add a AMD RX 480 GPU in one slot and a Nvidia RTX 2080 GPU on another slot on the same motherboard?

Hello, here are my system specs:

9900k
16GB DDR4 4500Mhz Ram
RTX 2080 Founders Edition
MSI Z390 Micro ATX Motherboard Gaming Edge AC
1TB Samsung 970 Pro NVME SSD
EVGA 650 Watt PSU

I have my old XFX RX 480 GTR Black Edition 8GB video card from AMD laying around, and I am wondering what will happen if I insert my old AMD GPU together with my current RTX 2080 FE. Will my computer take advantage of both cards and I will see an increase in FPS and performance?

Also, I have a freesync monitor, so with both cards inserted, and my display port cables connected to the AMD GPU, will my freesync work with the additional power of the RTX 2080 also?

Solution
You would run into substantial driver issues, create more heat, and accomplish nothing in terms of performance.
You cant use both to increase performance and you cant use it to enable freesync.

Sell the 480 and move on.
