What will protect my phone better?

I am planning to get the Oneplus 3t as soon as it gets releases for the Netherlands. I think the phone itself looks great, and therefore I don't want to put a flip case on it. I have been using a flip case on my Nexus 5 for over 2 years now and the protection was great, but it adds so much bulk.
If I put a dbrand skin on the back, and a tempered glass screen protector on there, would it be protected enough? (I basically never drop my phone except it is in my bag with keys and all, so i'm terrified of scratches.)
Nexus 5 still hasnt been damaged at all #proud

If you are not worried about drop damage and want to see the phone design, just get a clear protector and a screen protector.
