i want to get 144hz but i am capped at 60hz using hdmi wire

The monitor instructions only list DVI/DP as supporting higher than 60Hz. Not sure if an adapter will work

Your DVI limitation makes it difficult. A simple cable won't work. You have to have a powered converter.

Nope. I would search this board for "HDMI to DVI 144hz". There may be recommendations that are known to work.
