What would be a good GPU upgrade from an R7 370?

So when I bought my first gaming PC I had a tight budget and the GPU I decided on was a Sapphire R7 370 2GB and now that I've upgraded my motherboard and CPU the next thing I need is a better GPU.
I'm looking for something around 200-300 USD that'll run most games at 1080p 60fps on high settings.
I'm not planning on making any purchases until December(I read where GPU prices might drop a little in the next few months).

If you replace a ~$200 GPU with another slightly newer ~$200 GPU, you may not be getting that much of a performance increase. You'll have to look at a GTX1070 or Vega and up for a significant upgrade.

The obvious choice would be the GTX 1060 6GB or RX 580. If prices return to where they where a few months ago, they should be under $300. I don't think you need a 1070 to get a significant upgrade, the 1060 has more than double the performance of the R7 370.

gtx 1060 or rx 400/500 will be sufficient for ultra setting at 1080p settings.
