[SOLVED] What would be better?

I currently have:

i7-4790k
Gigabyte Z97X-SLI
GTX 970 G1 Gaming
16GB DDR3 1866Mhz

I'm able to upgrade the GPU to RTX 2070 or upgrade to i7-8700k, ASRock Taichi z370 and DDR4 RAM (that I don't exactly know which one).

If I choose the GPU now, in july or august I will be able to buy the rest and vice versa.

It's better for me to get the GPU now? My CPU can handle it till I buy everything else? And this motherboard is really a good choice for it?

Keep your 4790k, it is still a good CPU for gaming. Go for the 2070, it will be a substantial improvement over your 970.

Later in the year when AMD and Intel release their next CPUs, then I would think about upgrading the platform.

I'd go with the GPU now as you will see a much greater improvement in games now.

I think your CPU can handle the GPU.

If you go with the CPU etc now I don't think you will see much.

Thanks guys, I was watching some tests with it too and looks like the GPU really is the best choice, I'll go with it then.
