Hello everyone. I'm in the process of trading my slightly used nocompromisegaming PC for this new build. Lol...I'm just a speedaholic! Which is best to overclock to 4.4 Mhz

You can't overclock that. You need a 6700**K** not a 6700.

I really hope those aren't US dollars or that price includes a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, desk, printer, and chair.

Can't overclock that CPU on that motherboard. You would need the 6700k. To answer your question, 4.4 is a modest overclock. A cryorig H7 air cooler would handle that easily.

You're going to run into CPU core voltage problems long before you ever reach anything approaching a temperature concern with Skylake. You'd be crazy to go past 1.45v, and even then you're not actually running into thermal issues, you run into stability issues and over-voltage concerns. You can get an i7 stable at 68c running damn near 5ghz on basically stock air, but it is dangerous for reasons beyond temperature.

1. You'll want the 6700k to overclock ... you can perhaps try BLCK OCing bit we're talking 2 or 3%

2. That MoBo has a substandard audio solution (ALC 887) .. pick any MoBo from any competitor in that price range and you will jump up 2 notches to ALC 1150

3. You have a reference card.... every reference card throttles. Get an MSI Gaming X or Gigabyte G1

4. Just about very one of those coolers is a cheap CLC.... I'd use an H7

That price is obscene. ... This us faster every way from Sunday across the board and is $800 cheaper.

Pretty sure the Z170m-Plus does in fact allow BCLK overclocking on factory UEFI, it certainly does on non factory UEFIs.

Pretty sure the Z170m-Plus does in fact allow BCLK overclocking on factory UEFI, it certainly does on non factory UEFIs.

I'm no longer sure which Z170 motherboards still allow bclck since Intel has updated the microcode. Some boards are still able to I know, but others with newer Bios can't be reverted to the older Bios, so I typically recommend one of Asrocks Hyper series motherboards if someone is interested in overclocking locked processors.
