I have a budget of around 900 pound and I live in the uk aswell.

Aswell as this I have a i5 8600k

Side note: Are there any 1440p monitors that when there resolution is turned to 1080p they are able to play at 240hz

Thanks

Usually the refresh rate is part of the panel itself, regardless of resolution displayed. So, for example, a 4K 60Hz panel is still only going to be able to do 60Hz running a non-native 1080p resolution.

For 1440p 144Hz and ~£900 , I'd shoot for a 27-32" range VA panel, £300-£350 range

Would leave you with the "best", new GPU available to you an RTX2070 in the ~£450 range.

On the cheaper end of the spectrum, that £290 Samsung panel would just about let you have an RTX2080, at ~£640
