What would be to happen if you had a bad cooling system?

i was woundering what would happen if i had a bad or cheap cooling system. im trying to cut down on my pc budget and i was woundering if the cooler could be a place to cut down

Most CPU's come with a fan that runs just fine as long as you are not overclocking. I would just go with the OEM fan if its a budget PC.

The Evo 212 coolers for 30. Off sale price are not a bad air cooler. When there onsale or there a rebate they run about 25 online. If a cooler not on right the CPU going to run hot...to hot and the mb or CPU will shut down.
On older CPU without the thermal safety's they used to melt. Used to end up with CPU with burn hole in it. Most newer system when they run hot they lock up or you start blue screening.

First try the stock cooler, if you are not happy with the cooling performance, buy a cooler to your budget.

Note: Stock cooler's are decent enough to perform. Apply the thermal paste properly. It won't destroy your system.
