I am building a gaming PC and need some insight as to which system I have in my carts would be better for gaming in 1440p. I have the tower, power supply, and monitor and enough juice to push the 2 graphics cards in build #1.
Build #1:
2x Gigabyte GTX 970
Corsair H100i
MSI Z97-GD65
I5-4690k
Team Xtreem 2x8GB 2400 (This memory because it matches my color, white)

Around 1400

Build #2
Asus X99 Deluxe 2011-v3
Gigabyte GTX 970
I7-5820k
G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 series 4x4GB DDR4 2400
Corsair H100i

Around 1500

I will be overclocking the CPU on either of the two, I just need to know which would be better for gaming?

I think this is better only because the newer RAM is great and will boot you in fast. Both systems will get you optimal performance in games.

Now the benchmarks for the 5820K is slacking, it is a great overclocker as well.

Also down the line the more cores will help you in multi-tasking and will also be good for a two-card setup.

But, this is just my personal opinion :)
