Auto mode in my 2012 eskt19a is looking for PCi-e, then integrated. I have this on and plugged in my graphics card but there is a black screen but the graphics card fan is on. If I enabled PCI-e and there is still a black screen from my VGA connecting to graphics card what would I have to do? I am not an expert nor a good pc builder*

In device manager, my intel hd graphics are enabled, then when I go into hidden devices, I see microsoft basic display adapter which is disabled I think, I update it and it updates to my graphics card a GT 710, but when I plug my VGA into my graphics card there is a black screen on my monitor. How can I get my screen to work? In drivereasy as well, it says my Nvidia GT710 is also unplugged, the only way I have access to my screen right now is through integrated graphics. My graphics card fan also turns on when my computer is on and VGA is connected to intel hd graphics.
