As for he RAM, 2400 will serve well but of late have seen up to 3000 selling at close to same price ... look again on buy day.

Pictures don't do the case justice.... but ya have to decide what is more important, bling or features / performance. One thing about a red case ... its kinda fun first few days as everyone says "oh look at that, that's different"....but after a while it's like "ow, my eyes"

The Aegis got a 60% rating in build quality ... 70% on performance.... 60% on Value for Money
The Evolv got a 100% rating in build quality ... 95% on performance.... 100% on Value for Money

I don't see that as a hard choice. Bill Owen is one of the most respected PC Mod Builders around. Check out the video below... watch it end to end...
That will keep you going for a while. I would upgrade the PSU to the EVGA P2 650 Super Nova. It's only about $20.00 more depending on where you find it and its platinum rated.

And I didn't think the Aegis was a mITX. I thought that was a mATX case.

I'd also go with a larger AIO cooler - at least 240 mm.

1. To be frank, the cooler is trash. It gets outperformed by the $25 Hyper 212. There's not a CLC made that can compete with a comparable priced air cooler.

2. The Aegis is a MicroATX case which will of course ft an ITX board. I' d rethink that ... using a mATX board in a mATX case or a iTX board in an iTX case

I'd use the Enthoo Evolve iTX which offers enormous cooling opportunities with your chosen iTX MoBo

The Aegis was very poorly reviewed:

The Evolv ... very well reviewed
http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/7288/phanteks-enthoo-evolv-itx-tower-chassis-review/index7.html

Also, both Evolv cases will fit just about any cooler you choose.

iTX has 200mm clearance
mATX has 196mm clearance.

The white phanteks cooler looks phantastic in the white Evolv case

Tho this is what's going in next iTX build ... it will be used to cool both the CPU and 1080 GFX card

3. With games now hitting the 100 GB mark, you won't fit many on the SSD, that means most of ya games will be on a slow HD. Solve that problem w/ a SSGD

http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/5748/seagate-desktop-2tb-sshd-st2000dx001-review/index9.html

A situation like this left most power users using an SSD for their operating system, while still running a secondary mechanical drive for storage and games. A typical setup such as this would allow the OS to load very quickly, while leaving you stunned at how long it took to load a game. With the introduction of the Desktop SSHD, Seagate has again switched up the game, offering a substantial performance boost to those of you in this situation.

Now, if you are one that chooses to use a single drive for your operating system, and have held onto your standard desktop HDD for the benefit of capacity, the Desktop SSHD is calling your name. The 8GB of NAND cache in conjunction with Seagate's application optimized algorithms should offer a tremendous performance boost, and again the more you use, it the faster the drive will get, as it learns how you use your system.

In every case seen here today, the Seagate Desktop SSHD excels, whether it be a synthetic point and click benchmark like HD Tune or ATTO, or even application traces via PCMark 8, the drive just performs.

4. Can't speak to the RAM as don't know which you've chosen

5. I ya do the mATX build, consider upping the PSU size a bit as the MoBo is SLI capable.

I've chosen the
Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2400C14R Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400Mhz CL14 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Kit, Red

so you telling me i should go with Phanteks EVOLV ITX case ? i mean it looks good and everything but i don't like the colour it looks boring man...

I don't see that as a hard choice. Bill Owen is one of the most respected PC Mod Builders around. Check out the video below... watch it end to end. You want a quality case made of 1/4" thick aluminum .... or thin sheet metal and cheap plastic

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dnvpFZ64hI

You had an mATX case and an iTX MoBo... as above, that's the 1st decision you have to make.... mATX for both or iTX for both

The mATX MoBo is:

- $5 cheaper
- supports higher speed memory
- supports SLI, allowing extension of system life by 18-24 months
- Has PCI Express port
- Extra SATA Express
- 2 extra USB ports
- 3 extra fan headers

The iTX comes with WiFi

Me... I'd be thinking future SLI and water cooling both cards and CPU, so Id go with the mATX. If you a LAN party guy, the iTX makes more sense.

As I said the white looks fantastic ... but there's 4 colors to choose from

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=enthoo+evolv&N=-1&isNodeId=1

There's also special editions

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFHTaByTBwE

and a tempered glass ATX version

I'm going with the case what you recommended. This is my new build.. I'm going with the mini case because i found the perfect motherboard for this case ! I'm just worried if the gtx 1070 will not fit in the case. but yeah i got my new parts check it out.. also would you write down your list of parts for a gaming pc for around 1000? including the GTX 1070? thanks

Asus Z170I Pro Gaming Motherboard (Socket 1151, Intel Z170, DDR4, S-ATA 600, Mini ITX, SupremeFX, Sonic Radar ll)

Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX Mini-ITX Chassis with Window - Special Edition - computer cases (Mini-Tower, PC, 1x 200 mm, Plastic, Steel, Mini-ITX, Black, Red)

Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2400C14R Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400Mhz CL14 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Kit, Red

Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB 2.5 inch Solid State Drive - Black

Intel Core i5 6600K Processor (3.5 GHz, 8 GT/s DMI, 1150 MHz GPU, 91 W)

EVGA 650 W G2 GOLD 80+ Modular PC Power Supply Unit

2tb hard drive

Phanteks PH-TC14S_BK 68.1 CFM CPU Cooler

Overkill PSU. Get the EVGA 550 G2 if you want to save money and have better efficiency with that setup. A GTX 1070 + your system under max load would be about 275W-300W max load, more like 250W when gaming, making the 550 G2 more of a sweet spot for efficiency, and a money saver. Even overclocked, I think it's still the better option.

this build comes out much cheaper ! should I go for it ? I'm scared the gtx 1070 looks massive for the case but in the review they said every GPU size supported.. what do you think ? its a smart build ? it comes out around £583 + gtx 1070 £270.= £853 total

EVGA SuperNova G2 550 W Gold Fully Modular Power Supply Unit

SeaSonic 520W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular Fanless ATX Power Supply

so close to my plan build. As you can see they using the seaSonic 520w 80+ PSU
I'm not sure if that be ok with the GTX 1070. if yes then I'm doing this build without a question!
