Question Whatc an cause a computer to fry hardrives on the secondary plug?

About a month ago I lost a hardrive reason unknown but I added a 2nd hardrive and now that one is also dead the primary hardrive is fine but now I am afraid to plug in another hardrive and I Need to what can I test?

What PSU is installed: make, model, wattage, age, condition?

If the system is overloading the PSU and/or the PSU no longer capable of providing the necessary power requirements all sorts of things can happen. None of them good.

If you have a multimeter and know how to use it, then you can test PSU.
