What'll happen if overloading a PSU by 400-800 Watts?

What will happen if the protection circuity works as its suppose to it will just shut down or just restart, dont believe above comments but I guess its a possibility anytime you overload any PS.

With a good quality, but small, PSU...yes.
With a cheap one, the 'protection circuity' may be there in name only.

And in many comments here, we see:
"I saw a flash and heard a bang. A little puff of smoke came out of the back..."

Yes, the protection circuitry should kick in. But if it doesn't...

Nothing works, my crazy friend is onto loading a 350W PSU with 2x GTX TITANS. Mad guy also got 2x 4-Pin to 8 Pin PCI-E Power Adapters to power up the GPU's. He's using Core i7 3770K @ 4.0 GHz. I bet I'll hear a blast tonight. He's trying to power up the PC, FULLY OUT-OF CABINET and ON (Yes, Kept ON) the BED! Lol, the guy doesn't know how to make basic assembly connections.... 😛

I'll try making a video out of it and upload on YouTube! xD

That goes beyond crazy. That seems more like suicidal.
I suggest you at least make sure several people are standing by with fire extinguishers.

I DID NOT SELECT ANY BEST ANSWER YET, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN???!!!!!
I think I'll have to update my password.... Best answers are being selected automatically!!?!??! :ouch:

BTW The guy who was making madness, I just switched off his house main power before he could power on his PC and then I turned it back on. So now the fool knows what'll happen if the PC is powered up. Danger is out. Thanks guyz. 😀

At the bottom of the reply, that is selected as the Best Answer, it says:

"DSzymborski selected this answer as the solution March 16, 2014 12:23:33 PM"

You can select a different reply as Best Answer if you want to.

I don't wanna change any answer but I want to know what did this, I didn't select any best answer! I was off my computer at 12 and I always leave my PC online and turned on with everything as it is so I don't have to start again and again. (Coz my PC has a lotta startup items).......

Anyone that can click on the green "Pick as the solution" button can do it.

DSzymborski did it in this case.

But how can a user select themselves as "Best Solution" in a post? I just locked my user and went away without a click and there's nobody else who uses my computer! I think somebody's got my password or something because the same thing has happened in 4 Questions already. I'm not letting this go any far.

A user cannot select their own reply as the best answer.

I've already told you that pretty much any user can select a best answer in your thread. No one needs to be logged in as you to select a best answer in your post.

Dont Let The Smoke Out Of It !!!
once you do it's near impossible to get it back in...
