What's A Better Overclocker i7 3770k Or i5 3570k

Well what more can be said what's a better overclocker i7 3770k or i5 3570k.

I've seen some people get there 3570k to 5ghz!... but on the other hand I've also seen people get there i7 3770k also to 5ghz I'm talking stable 24/7.

But I probably won't be able to do the same but I'll be happy with 4.6 or higher.

I don't really care about price at all.

They are the same architecture so it theoretically has no difference. The i7 is a quad with psuedo core lite but its really only a quad core, the i5 is a pure quad, in overclocking ironically i5's generally overclock better. That or you can get non counter chips with much higher binned multi's, but it costs ya.

just go with 3770K just because it has HT...

I have a hard time believing that anybody is running ivy bridge @5.0GHZ 24-7 stable unless they are using a rasa kit or better i would need to see proof to believe it anyway theoretically has no difference between those two chips other than what sarinaide mentioned.

Luck with individual chips still plays a major role in that. Some chips can get there on stock voltage and relatively low power/temperature on air cooling, others don't.

yep thats true

i have a 2600k thats a really good overclocker without needing huge voltage increase

but in general every review i have seen on ivybridge overclocking says they will run hotter clock for clock against a sandy

Yeah i can hit 5.2GHZ 1.45V stable on my i5-2500k granted my temps are 87C :lol: so i don't keep it that way for longer than a benchmark run but on my i5-3570k if i go any higher than 4.7GHZ i would fry my chip in no time :lol:
