What's a cooler that's compatible with FM2/FM2+ as well as AM4?

Are there any coolers that are compatible with both FM2/FM2+ and AM4?

I'd be looking for something that'd work for overclocking an FM2 760K. I want to squeeze a bit more life out of it before I upgrade.

The Hyper 212 is taller (more clearance) but you have to get the AM4 bracket separately straight from coolermasters website (they send you one for free when you have proof of purchase). In your case since you wouldnt need the AM4 bracket right away, this may be a better option. The hyper 212 is a cooler I deal with quite often, and have never had an issue with one.

It looks like it has issues mounting onto AM4, based on some of the reviews.

Makes sense since this model did exist well before AM4 came out. I have personally never installed one on an AM4 socket, but this was the first one that came to mind that I knew fit both of the criteria that you were looking for. After reading the reviews, it sounds like it is mostly RAM clearance issues, possibly resolved by going with low profile RAM and not getting crazy heat spreaders?

I saw a few reviews that also said that it couldn't be mounted in a good orientation for cooling on the AM4 MBs.

Yeah, I don't care much for flashy ram. But I'd rather not have to worry about clearance issues.

Do you know of any other coolers that'd work?

Ah ok.
Yeah, that'd probably work out well.
