I need a for a PC for my 62-year-old mother. She has been using a Gateway model for the last 15 years and an Emerson TV. Her activities include movies, browsing the internet, participating in Zoom calls, gaming, word processing, and emails. She is interested in Windows 11 and prefers SFF or mini PCs (flexible).
Her budget is around $800 USD and she needs a complete setup, including a monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers.

Hi and thanks. She specifically said no all in one. I recommended the same. Id build it out, but shes in maine, im on the west coast. Games like bejeweled, maybe second life. She was looking at pcs at staples, i was like, oh no.. They had stuff from 6, 7 yrs ago. Thats Maine.

15 year old gateway is pretty easy to replace with an all in one, I agree.

SFF desktops, might be time to look at a NUC / Mini-PC.

Could get something like this. It’s about the size of a book. Then add a nice monitor.

If something a bit bigger

You can also look at options like this with say a 10th gen and save some bucks if you were to look at refurbished/off lease systems. For example I recently bought a nice Dell latitude 7490 laptop with an 8th gen i5, 8 gb of ram and a 128gb ssd for just over 100 bucks from eBay. 20 bucks for a 16gb kit of ram, tossed in a 240gb ssd I had spare and have a nice laptop for peanuts.
