What's a good replacement for the "thermal adhesive" for the spacers on an Arctic i30?

I got an Arctic i30 CPU cooler recently, and to install the bottom metal parts (can't remember the name) you need to screw them in through plastic spacers. The fan came with 4 small rings of "thermal adhesive" (some kind of tape) to stick them to the motherboard. The problem is, I lost the adhesive. Should I just try to screw it in through the spacers (not stuck to the motherboard) or is there an alternative like heat resistant electrical tape? Thanks in advance.

Solution
If you are talking about back plate that goes on opposite side from the socket on MB, adhesive is just for easier mounting so you don't have to hold them, it's not any heat conductive or resistant material, nothing gets hot there.
