What is your current model router?
How many rooms away is it?
Are walls hallow drywall?? Insulated drywall?? Concrete/cinder blocK??
About 2 rooms away. Probably hallow dry wall. Although when I used a usb wifi adapter netgear ac1200 it performed terribly...
Router is netgear wnr2000v4. It's an old model I am no longer using it.
Currently connecting my desktop to my laptop via crossover cable and then using laptop's wifi to enable internet on desktop. My room seams to be a deadzone...Laptop wifi is working but only because I am using a wifi extender in between.
Laptop is closer to the wifi extender but not by much. Maybe that's why the connection was dropped but I can't move it any closer.
I would be open to using a good wireless adapter if you have any suggestions but usb wifi is not working well for me so I'm probably not gonna use that.
Main router is an old belkin model but I can't change it.
Laptop has killer network wifi.
Now that I think of it a high quality wifi adapter will do the trick. Problem with the USB wifi adapter I returned was there was signal interference with my laptop's wifi. I would lose connection on desktop.
EDIT: USB wifi had issues with no connectivity and having to perform multiple restarts so i'm not going to use that.
Have Two gpu's hopefully it won't cause a problem if I get a pcie wifi adapter
