I just put this computer together, but Im having a bit of buyers remorse as I tend to move pretty frequently and I've figured a laptop may just be the better option considering I really only play games like LoL, and PS4 PC releases. I liked the idea of being able to add and remove parts in a desktop, but it just isn't seeming very practical. I figure upgrading a laptop every 3-4 years would be a better option. I just like a zippy computer as I have to use programes like SPSS, and as a biology student have to go through quite a bit of research.

i would check asus and msi.
both have nice gaming laptops, and with the 1000 series you get some nice bump on the gpu performance.
the gtx1060 should be enough for 1080p, but if you get a larger screen running 1440p/2160p, than i would recommend a 1070.
will also be faster for stuff that supports gpu acceleration.

From my point of view, an equivalent Laptop comparing your build should have:
- i7 6700HQ
- Nvidia GeForce GTX1060
- 16GB of RAM. (which in these laptop class it is normally that is expandible)

There are some laptops with that configurations, as fry178 said, check Asus or MSI models. They have some great price/performance laptops. Also you could check some Razer or Alienware models if you don't mind to spend more.

I agree with fry178 about 1060/1070 options. The only downside are prices. Tom's published an update 'best of' laptops a couple of weeks ago. I believe there was an Asus that won out. A 1060 based will usually average around $1500 or more and 1070's almost always closer to $2000. The Asus won for best overall package/battery life while the MSI was close the battery and screen color accuracy was a bit off.

It's a beast for the money. The only upgrade really needed would be a bigger SSD.

I'd recommend checking it out. Aorus has been trying some cool things as well(1080p/120hz-gsync & 1440p-144hzgsync). The downside for them is their not pretty and costing quite a bit more.
