What's best, i5 2500k or i5 3570k?

I'm currenly in the process of getting parts to build a new tower. I'm going to be getting a z77 motherboard and while I have no plans to overclock, I was wondering what's best, the Sandy Bridge 2500k or the Ivy Bridge 3570k? I notice the power for the 2500k is 95w and the 3570k is only 77w, but I have seen some say the 3570k runs a little hotter than the 2500k.

Also, does the 2500k have an integrated memory controller? I notice the 3570k says it does but under Details on it's Newegg page http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504 it says can use "Dual-channel DDR3 Memory Controller supports DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1600 memory". Is that the only RAM that can be used with the 3570k?

As for cooling, I have seen many people recommend the Cooler Master fan http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065 and I like the looks of it because seems like the fan can be very easily changed if need be without removing the heatsink from the motherboard. Does that fan/heatsink add a lot of weight to the motherboard?

if your getting a z77 mobo and your not going to overclock it would be best to get the i5 3570k, at stock its faster than the 2500k and you will be able to use a few more features on the z77 board than you with a 2500k.

2500k is still very excellent at performance especailly it has better overclocking, if you want ultimate overclocking go with 2500k if medium overclocking go with 3570k also this support PCI-E 3.0 which is useful for high-end CF/SLI setup.

If I go with the 3570K, can I only use the 1333 or 1600 DDR3 RAM?

I think the Ivy would get my vote. Its only 5% or thereabouts faster than the Sandy but faster is still faster. Its worth the extra $20 for me to opt for the 3570K.

i5-2500k gets my vote because ivy runs to hot for my liking and comfort but 3570k is faster stock vs stock between the two if you only plan to mildly overclock 3570k is the way to go

for the sake of OCing high now: my vote's for the i5-2500K

for the sake of medium OCing later, or high OC's with a really good cooling setup; 3570K
