I just bought a asrock AB350 pro 4 (board) with ryzen 5 1600,and I was wondering should I go 2x8 gb or 4x4 gb. Have to say am not a big gamer, but I do lots of multitasking,(video editing etc)
On that board which supports dual channel memory you would be better off going with 2x8gb. Having 4 sticks will put a bit more stress on the memory controller in the cpu, which can negatively affect things like memory overclocking. Only with quad channel platforms like X99 should you opt for 4 sticks.

+1. Dual channel boards do better in that configuration. Max out your dual channel first. Plus, that way down the road you can add another round of 2x8GB if needed.
