Whats better for gaming Display port or HDMI?

Hi I recently got a new 1440p gaming monitor and have been using a display port and a HDMI cable. I know a decent amount about PC's but monitors I'm not so good on. So I was wondering from people with a bit more knowledge and experience which one is better for gaming at 1440p? and if you know what differences are their between the two?

DisplayPort. DP has a higher refresh rate capability. For example since DP 1.2 it could run 1440p at 144Hz. Most monitors still run HDMI 2.0 which max out at 60Hz normally.

Well my Monitor is 60 hz anyway so if thats the only difference is it still worth using display port or no diffrence

No difference in picture quality, just bandwidth for higher refresh rates as said.

There are other differences but that will depend on your monitor and it's features. If it has Gsync then you would use DisplayPort if you have an Nvidia card.

I would probaly do DisplayPort. Mainly because HDMI still has to deal with HDCP which can be annoying at times.

They're both equally good. The only difference is the maximum supported format.
