What's better for the money - GTX 960 or GTX 970. Please help

I'm looking to get a new PC for my birthday. I want an upgrade from a Radeon, however, I just can't seem which is better for the price - 960 or 970. I'm on a budget of £650 and the 970 on a pre- built one (With OS) is 745 pounds. I'll built a pc myself if i need to.

(If you can find a pc with a 970 [with OS] and a CPU of a AMD FX-8350, that would be awesome.)

if you are planning to play on a 1080p monitor 960 is more than enough an d it will give 40 to 50+ fps

Defo the 970, the 960 is good but that price is not worth it. The R9 285 performs in line with 960 and is cheaper. 970 as you know beats it and i guess is good for its price will last, of course there are the R9 290/x line they are good too. They do come out pretty cheap in some stores
