What's causing Deus Ex HR to run choppy?

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I just started Deus Ex Human Revolution a few days ago (OMG! OMG!!! What a game!). The game runs crisp and smooth 1920*1080 until I step outside into the streets of Detroit. There the game becomes noticeably choppy. Not all the time, but when I run, right after I step out, and when there are a lot of people on the screen.

My video card is a HD 7770. Not the fastest cards by any means, but I've seen reviews of this card with Deus Ex HR, and the card seems to be perfectly adequate. My CPU is a Pentium G860 3.0 Ghz.

Which of the two do you think is causing the issue? Video card? CPU? Both? In my experience, the CPU is rarely the culprit when it comes to these issues, but maybe a single core Pentium is stretching it...?

Thanks so much for your help!

They both are a bit of a problem. But the gfx card is the main culprit. That is a graphically demanding game if you play with the settings turned up. I loved that game too. Looking forward to the new one coming out. Here is a page that may help with tweaking the game: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/deus-ex-human-revolution-tweak-guide#1

But a new card is needed for best performance.
