[SOLVED] What's causing frequent freezing on my Legion 5i laptop ?

I will be playing a game or even just browsing the internet and my laptop will completely freeze for around 2-3 seconds then be back to normal. rtx 2060 i7 10750 16gb ram.
It started happening a couple days after i got the laptop. Some days it will not freeze at all but other days it will freeze every like 10 minutes. Temps are fine and cpu isnt being used past 50%.

did a malware scan and came clean. ram usage is always low currently at 30% with chrome open

check what is running on the laptop. could be something you install

How are you measuring temperatures?
HWmonitor will record the current, minimum, and maximum cpu temperatures.
If you see 100c. as a max, you have throttled until temperatures get back to normal.
Laptop coolers are small, lighe, and not very efficient.

As a temporary measure, try setting max cpu power to 99% in windows power management.
