I just bought the Zotac GTX 970 AMP! omega edition, poped it in my rig, and am heart broken...
the performance is pitiful on my rig.... played league of legends max, uncapped with an avg of 80fps.... wtff? heres a screen cap after 5 minutes of game play http://imgur.com/CJGrAYs

and im starting to believe its a bottle neck.... anyone got any ideas, im kind of freaking out here... :(

Specs:
CPU: AMD FX 8120 (base clock)
Mobo: Asus M5A97 R 2.0
RAM: 8 GB Corsair Vengeance
PSU: 750 watt
windows on a 120gb hyber x 3k ssd (if that matters)
Heres a link to the GPU as well...

Solution
You don't have a hardware problem since your Metro LL performance is correct.

It's hard to say what your LoL issue though as you need to compare fairly to other people. Same or similar CPU? Same map with number of people? etc.

I doubt you have a problem though.

I mean I used that (LEAGUE OF LEGENDS) as a base, since all my other friends have older cards and are getting 100-200 more FPS then I am....

I have neither of those game....

im getting around 87-95 AVG on metro last light on max settins, .. is that ok?

what res? what setting? but as i said before you can try replicate reviewer setting and compare the score to yours. i got around 3500 with my 660 SLI in unigine 3.0 with normal tessellation, high shader, 16 AF and no AA. but i did that on my 1600x900 monitor.

How would I go about updating the bios? I'm having some issues figuring it out...

Also paranoid question... I actually packed up the card and put it back in the box before I tried it again.... And I put it in the original anti-static bag. It should be unharmed from that right? I heard somewhere that once you take it out the bag it's no longer anti static? Or was it only the outside of the bag o. O(I'M a tad confused on that)

Thanks again everyone

It should be unharmed.
Anti-static bags are made of a material that doesn't conduct electricity thus preventing damage from shocks which can wreck the sensitive transistor components.

The bag is still anti-static, however you should follow proper GROUNDING procedures when handling any card like this:

1) PC plugged in with power off (grounds case to house)

2) Grab metal part of case to ground yourself (removes any charge you have)

3) Grab card with one hand while touching the case still

4) Attach card to PC.

Again, I don't think there's a problem with the card. Not sure what's going on with LoL though.

^ i think as long as other game working fine it should not a problem. OP just wondering why the performance is much lower than his other friends that using much older card. but even so the FPS still exceed 60 and averaging around 80s. at the very least i don't think such game need very high FPS. unlike some CS player that insisting to play the game at 200FPS (despite knowing monitor refresh rates limitation). also maxwell is new. so i think that is just a driver related optimization. but with so many new games coming out this holiday season i think nvidia might giving this new titles more priority over LoL that already pass 60FPS mark
