All was fine untill i didnt start to overclock. This asus z 170 pro gaming motherboard bios is total mess and i should listen to people before i bought it.

So first of all offset and adaptive modes are broken, doesnt do anything at all to vcore. It set vcore to 1.5 and i couldnt remove it, only cmos helped(F5 restore to defaults didnt work)

So i set it to manual 1.25 and all was fine. Today i once again tried to change vcore, but still didnt work so i set 1.25v core. After i booted up all programs still showed offset vcore, after a while cpuz started to show 1.25, but core temp or hwmonitor didnt.

So i pressed F5 in bios to return to def settings. CPU now is at 3.6GHz in torbo. I dont understand that, because in turbo mode my cpu was reaching 3.9GHz previously. I tried cmos(removing pin for 5 minutes), but this time it didnt worked, all bios settings were like before...

Should i return this mess mb?

Please don't start another thread covering the same basic issue. Stick to this one (I just closed several) and maybe you'll get some help resolving your issue.

I would suggest you start over, from the default settings and seek advice on how to raise your performance. As it is now, a jumble of settings have been communicated and no one can logically start a troubleshooting/overclocking process.

Start from factory default settings. When that is done, please provide a list of all of your system's components (make/model). We can start from there.

i5 6600k, asus z170 pro gaming, 16gb(2x8)hyperx savage 2400MHz cl12, intel integrated graphics, xfx ts 550w, barracuda 500gb 7200, windows 10

Thats my system. I was trying to oc my cpu to 4.4GHz with adjusting core clocks and voltage up to 1.25 in heaviest stress. My default vcore(for 3.5GHz i presume) is 1.21 so i added +0.1 in offset mode. When i boot pc up cpuz and other programs showed 1.39v during heavy load. So i set -0.1 offset and it was the same during load, only base vcore for 3.5ghz changed in bios. I decided to check manual set to 1.25v. It worked untill today. I changed to offset again and then to manual and my system reading programs didnt adjusted to manual 1.25vcore, only ai3 did, rest show offset 0.9-1.38vcore. Now cpuz started to respond well showing 1.25 but rest of the programs dont, except aida maybe. i dk whats going on with this motherboard. Ah! And yesterday my vcore changed to 1.5, pressing F5 in bios didnt help, only removing pin from the motherboard reseted its vcore, i was trying to remove pin today aswell, but it didnt reset bios settings and didnt fixed programs incorrect/correct? readings.
