I think my cable is going out, will any USB cable work with the Moto G5 plus charger?

Any USB cable? No. It has to have a micro-USB connector at one end (to match the charging socket on the phone). But apart from that it's just a regular cable.

For what they cost, it might pay you to get a complete new charger instead 'cos it might not be the cable that's the problem.
