Question What's Out There for Dictation / Word Processing for Windows 10?

My longtime Win 7 PC had Dragon Naturally Speaking on it and became pretty accurate, even though it malfunctioned often, in addition to experiencing TERRIBLE support from Nuance.

MY CURRENT PC IS WIN 10, it's years later and I'd like to know what's out there for someone like me, who vocally dictates all text messages and uses MS word on the PC extensively.

*Just as a note, IMO, the dictation feature on iphones is archaic. The feature actually turns this smartphone into dumbphone...

Windows 11 has built in dictation.

I have just started some experimentation to inventory paper file folders and contained documents.

Seems almost too easy.....

Unfortunately, Windows 7 is more than obsolete and I would not expect any further efforts by anyone to develop an improved voice dictation application for Windows 7.

Or continue support for existing Windows 7 applications.

Sorry, my OP was unclear. My PC is now Win 10...

No problem.

Just give the dictation "app" a try.

Like most things there will be a bit of a learning curve.

And I am still learning "dictation" myself.

There seems to be some delay/lag between when I speak and when the words become text on the screen document.

However speaking a bit slower, louder, and with careful enuciation the dictation process goes more smoothly.

Remember we are taking to a bunch of silicon, etc. Not as forgiving as real eardrums..... :)

And, for the most part, the technology will continue to improve on both ends.
