I am gpu shopping and I ran across what I think is an amazing gpu for the price but it says "Interface😛ci-e 3.0" what is pcie 3.0? Can I fit that card on my x16 pcie slot?
Also although this is out of subgect but does this gpu require a 6 pin connector? Plz I would appreciate a quick answer.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487114&nm_mc=BAC-Criteo&cm_mmc=BAC-Criteo-_-Video+Card+-+Nvidia-_-EVGA-_-14487114

Anyone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the Pci 16x stands for the size of the slot on the Motherboard. You can have 8x, 4x, and 1x. This will explain. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Everything-You-Need-to-Know-About-the-PCI-Express/190/4 . As for 2.0 and 3.0, I think that just means the speed at which the information travels. Think of it like USB 2.0 and 3.0. USB 2.0 will work in 3.0, but will be limited in speed. If your motherboard has PCI-e 3.0, And you get a 750 ti, everything will work fine. If you get the 750 ti and put into a 2.0 slot, it will run, but be limited in speed. I believe the only 750 ti requiring a 6 pin power connector is the ASUS GTX 750 ti. Also, I highly recommend the ASUS 750 ti OC (I own it)...

It fit into my 7 year old HP with no problems, and the cooling is overkill, which is good if you plan on OCing further, since you'll have the 6 pin power connector to supply enough power.

Solution
PCI-E 3.0 is the version of the PCI Express standard. PCI-E versions are backwards compatible, so you can install a PCI-E 3.0 graphics card in a motherboard's PCI-E 2.0 expansion slot.

PCI-Ex16 states the bandwidth of the given slot. All PCI-Ex16 graphic cards will physically fit into a PCI-Ex16 expansion slot, regardless of the PCI-E version.

That graphics card does not appear to require a 6-pin PCI Power connection from the power supply.
