Whats the benefit of faster ram?

Im currently deciding between DDR4-3000 and DDR4-2400. Im only gonna be gaming and web browsing. I know I don't need the DDR4-3000 but theres only a $20 difference. Is there any benefit to getting this faster RAM?

For what you would be using it, it probably would not be worth it. You would not even notice the speed differences.

Games more and more are using DRAM to greater effect and faster is, can be and will show more and more - there's been a few things out recently on the newer Fallout 4 game and better performance with faster DRAM

Hmm.. i have not heard about this before. I only know that faster RAM speeds would have better performance with APUs

APUs, for those that do it, it shows much better if multi-tasking, anyone doing memory centric work like video, imaging, CAD, GIS, heavy data base or spreadsheet type work. Where people don't really see much difference is in basic BMs or they do one thing at a time with their computers
