Now, I hope this isn't getting to be a trite subject, but I am currently in the market for a high quality gaming CRT monitor for roughly $700 to $800. The previous thread regarding 22 mitsubishi/21 sony didn't really answer my question because it didn't cover my monitors of choice. So let me begin...
My first choice was the sony f520, but that is rediculously expensive so that monitor is no longer part of my consideration. What monitors I am more intently focusing on are the Sony G520P and the Mitsubishi Diamondtron 2070SB. Based on a THG 2002 article I concluded that the 2060u was better than the G520, but was unable to find it at mitsubishi's website so the closest alternative was the 2070SB. For all intents and purposes, the mitsubishi seems to be a better product, but before jumping to conclusions I wanted to find out for sure whether or not the 2070SB is better than the 2060u. I have already looked extensively on google and have come up with nothing so here I am, at your guys' mercy. I would also like to add that I have not, with complete certainty, settled on a Mitsubishi monitor. If any of you can suggest a superior monitor then I would be very greatful.

The FP2141SB-BK is apparently identical to the DP2070SB-BK

Save yourself some money if you're going that route.

I'm in the same boat as you casull :/ I'm leaning towards the NEC/Mitsu myself. I understand the 2070 and the 2141 are "identical" but am wondering if anyone can explain the consistant $50 price difference between the two.
