Whats the best 980(ti) under 1000 or do u even need a 980 for a 1080p screen.

Depends what you want. Built in overclock, longer-life. highest overclocking abilities? But the best of everything would be the EVGA Kingpin cards. http://www.evga.com/articles/00944/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-980-Ti-KINGPIN/ . Overpriced but they will last forever, overclock to the max the core allows, which is around 1550-1600 and has built in OC off the bat.

Worth it? nah lol. You can buy the reference model and get around 1500. for a few hundred cheaper.
