what's the best cpu to upgrade to for me

i want to upgrade my cpu my current cpu is i7 4820k and i was wondering what would go best with my sc 1070.

What are you using the CPU for? The i7-4820K is still a very capable CPU and would pair fine with a GTX 1070.

I can't think of an upgrade that would make any sense. If you go to the fastest Skylake i7, the improvement would be so small that you wouldn't see it in real life.

The 4820k is still a really good chip, I wouldn't upgrade it for another couple of years. I'd say revisit the prospect of upgrading when Intel Cannonlake (first Intel 10nm architecture) chips come out.

unless you are using some sort of production software that hammers the CPU and can actually use multicores there is no CPU for you to upgrade to. Rule of thumb is to wait at least 4 generations before you bother to think about upgrading a CPU.
