Question Whats the best GPU for my 7700K ?

My rig:

7700K (will OC in the future)
32GB RAM
GTX 1080
Either a 1080p or a 1440p monitor.

I want to install my GTX 1080 in another rig so I need to buy a new GPU for this rig...I also have two monitors. I will probably use the 1440p for this rig. Whats the best GPU for this rig ?

Cards that I have considered:

GTX 1080 ti
RTX 2080
RTX 2080 ti
RTX 3080

What is your recommendation ?

I have upgraded my GPU from GTX 1070 to RTX 3070. I get good fps from all games between 120 to 144 fps at least with Nvidia recommended settings but Portal RTX. And yes I can play Portal RTX with acceptable fps.

For QHD or in other words 1440p resolution 3070 more than enough for now. When available 4060 or 4070 might be better, but they are said to be on the expensive side.

What is the make/model of your psu?
That may limit your choices.
7700K even with overclocking is no longer considered a strong gaming cpu.
I might guess that a 3070 class card would be appropriate if you have at least a good 750w psu:

I think an RTX 2080 ti would be a good pick ? It has 11GB vram and has ray tracing too ?

The 7700K is a 4-core 8-thread CPU, with a single-core performance between the 10400 and 11400 i5.

So... what GPU for 1440p? Gaming at 1080p the 7700K would bottleneck many games, but playing at 1440p don't.

So go get a the better GPU you can... a 3070 would be a good idea, for example.

with raytracing and dlss 3070 annihilates 2080ti, price seems to be same on ebay (for used card), for new card 2080ti costs 2x more than 3070

They are actually about even. With GPU prices as they are, a 6800 makes good sense. RT isn't very good but it beats a 3070 in normal rasterization, and can be had for over $200 cheaper.

Here is the spec comparison:

2080 ti is not far behind...i know that the cores on 3070 are stronger...

Also note that my main board supports PCI Express 3.0...
