Gigabyte G1 has the highest default clocks AFAIK, and they all overclock about the same. It really depends on each individual GPU inside the cards on how far you can go. It's luck of the draw for maximum clocks. If you go with a ROG card or a MSI lightning(if it exists yet) you may get a little higher in terms of maximum overclocking. Those types of cards tend to have binned chips that run better at higher clocks or lower voltages than the standard ones.

You can not go wrong with MSI, EVGA, Asus or Gigabyte so really a personal preference. I got the MSI Gaming.

MSI GTX 970 Gaming.

This would be my pick as well. The Asus Strix is supposedly pretty good too. Only gigabyte card i would consider is the mini-itx version, for a mini-itx rig.
