Hi all, I have an "ASUS P5KPL-AM SE" which I use for gaming. My Window Experience Index is 5.9 - due to my "disk data transfer rate".

In the P5KPL-AM SE - user guide:
It says that it can support: - 2x SATA 3 Gb/s ports.

What would happen if I purchase a SATA 6Gb/s drive?

I'm interested in a new Harddrive. What's the best I can get for the $100 I have?

hi, first welcome to toms community!

Yes you can use one but if you use a 6gb/s drive with your current mobo, it will limit the speed of the hdd to 3gb/s because thats the max speed your sata controller mobo offers. Better just to look for sata drive with 3gb/s but with more CACHE
